September 28, 2009

I’ve learned that even though it’s brisk when you walk out that door, you will be sweating after that fifteen-minute walk to the train.

I’ve learned that it’s always better to talk to a person face to face.

I’ve learned that when it’s 85 degrees outside, you have every right to get up and start screaming in the aisle if there is no air conditioner on an airplane.

I’ve learned that there is a such thing as too hot and it’s called the Florida Keys.

I’ve learned that it’s absolutely possible for dry cleaning to get lost from point A to point B.

I’ve learned that there are honest people in Brooklyn who bring your clothing back to the cleaners when they realize it isn’t theirs!

I’ve learned that there is nothing like fresh flowers.

I’ve learned that health insurance will always find a way to deny a procedure 24 hours before the procedure is about to happen and you will spend 4 hours on the telephone asking each and every person “WHY?”.

I’ve learned that when you want it, you just have to straight-up ask for it!

I’ve learned that sometimes someone close to you doesn’t know what the fuck they are talking about and you just have to forgive them anyway.

I’ve learned there is nothing like reminiscing with an old friend.

I’ve learned that you should ALWAYS get that cat out from behind the futon when you are going to prepare for someone to sleep on it.

I’ve learned that any chance of my cat being hurt causes a full-blown panic attack.

I’ve learned that sometimes letting a friendship go for good is the best decision someone can ever make for their own well-being.

I’ve learned that nothing compares to having that nice couch IN YOUR APARTMENT that you’ve been visiting in the store for years.

I’ve learned that thoughtful gifts are the best kind (even if they are late!).

I’ve learned that with patience and hard work, Craigslist is the best place to find Danish modern house wares.

I’ve learned that when he says he’s coming a home a little later than expected, I should prepare something for myself to eat otherwise I’ll be eating my dinner at 10pm.

I’ve learned that sometimes you need to look out for #1!
